MARRIED IN MARRAKECH
Welcome to Marrakech
While in Marrakech you can use their local Taxi services to get around. This is completely safe for tourists and travelers. Once you are checked in your accommodation, the hotel will conveniently contact Taxi drivers for pick up/drop off. You also have the option of renting a car.
There is no UBER/LYFT in this country.
WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN ARRIVING
Dress Attire
You are free to dress however you wish, and of course for the season. There are no laws that forbid you from wearing non-conservative clothing.
Keeping in mind that Morocco’s dominant religion is Islam, please consider this when dressing and going into public, more specifically the Medina which is in the ‘Old City’.
Phone Card
The best cost effective option may be to purchase a SIM card from a local phone company in Marrakech. Once you land in Marrakech airport (RAK), after going through security, customs, and baggage claim, there is a stand to the left named ORANGE. Here you can purchase a $40 SIM card for the duration of your stay. You can also contact your service provider to see if they offer an international phone plan in Morocco.
Plus Ones
As we have a set and limited guest list, There will be NO plus ones allowed during the welcome dinner, wedding ceremony and wedding dinner.
If you are wanting someone to accompany you on the journey to Africa, that is understandable, however they cannot attend this private event.
Health & Safety
We want to ensure all guests that Marrakech is a very safe city, and the King of Morocco ensures the safety of all tourists and travelers.
Please be aware that like most African countries, the dominant religion is Islam.
It is very important to respect all cultures when traveling abroad.
